Condition Of Cyber Security In India
In the past two or three years India faced a significant and evolving cyber threat landscape, including cyberattacks targeting government agencies, private companies, critical infrastructure, and individuals, as a result of it the Indian government had been taking steps to enhance cybersecurity. The National Cyber Security Policy 2013 aimed to protect information infrastructure and build a secure cyberspace. The government also established agencies like the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) to respond to and manage cybersecurity incidents.

Mr PP Choudhary, minister of state for electronics and IT stated that 44679, 49455, 50362 cyber security incidents took place in India during the years 2014, 2015 and 2016, as stated by the information collected by India’s computer emergency response team (CERT-in). Although the government has taken certain cyber security initiatives as discussed below, more aggressive measures are required to meet the challenge.
- Cyber Surakshit Bharat: It is aiming to strengthen the environment of cyber security in India and it is following the “Digital India” vision of Government. the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the Cyber Surakshit Bharat initiative.
- National Forensic Science University: Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has taken a historic decision to establish a National Forensic Science University to give the country more than 30,000 forensic professionals in every three years.
